It was a gorgeous last day of September. The leaves weren’t beginning to change yet, but that has been normal in Pittsburgh the last couple of years. I had never been to Schenley Park before, but I had heard it is a beautiful place. I actually was able to see a lot of the park that day as I drove around in circles trying to find the rock bridge where I was supposed to meet Sarah and Mike at. Sarah had sent me a picture of a part of the park where there is this huge hand built, stone bridge. I love shooting at new locations! But after driving around for about 15 minutes and not finding it, I called Sarah. Little did I know, they had been driving around trying to find it as well! The address we got off the internet was not correct. Eventually they found it and sent me their location. (Yay, iPhones!)
If you’d like to see this bridge in person, you have to park near the Schenley Visitor Center and Cafe, and walk down the cobblestone hill! It isn’t visible from the road which is part of what made it so difficult to find!
Sarah asked if it was alright if they brought their two kids along to their engagement session, and I said absolutely! It’s so much fun to get the kids involved when their parents are getting married! We did some family photos as part of their engagement session, and as you’ll see, the kids had a great time photo bombing their parents.
Mike brought along his wedding ring incase I wanted to do some photos with their rings there, and kept it in his pocket. When they made it back to the car, they discovered the ring was missing! So crazy! They walked back around and thankfully found it just a few feet from their car! Phew. Crisis averted!
Enjoy this engagement session at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh!
There’s a little stream that runs through the woods and the kids had a great time throwing rocks!
Then the yawns began! Sarah is a nurse and had worked an incredibly long shift the night before, and had very little sleep. Mike rolled his eyes and said “Are you serious?” It was pretty funny, and made for some great laughs!
More yawns and more laughter.
Photobombers!
We ended with some photos underneath the Schenley Bridge! Such a cool spot!
These photos were taken just two weeks before their wedding, and so I worked really hard to get them finished before their wedding day. The morning of their wedding, they were all loving and laughing at these photos on their phones. It was so great! I can’t wait to share their October wedding on the blog in a couple of weeks!
