Emily and Brett were married least summer at Nicassio Fields in Harrison City, PA. Their wedding day made my top 5 favorite weddings list. It was a perfect day! It has been at the front of my mind these days as we’ve been working on their wedding album recently! I have wanted to share it on the blog for a long time, but lets be real, I was worried that I would have SO MANY favorites that no one would end up looking at them all. Haha. Silly me.
There are so many parts of Emily and Brett’s wedding that I absolutely loved. Emily’s sparkling beaded wedding gown. The enormous sunflowers for the centerpieces. Brett’s sister and brother in law being the officiant, DJ, and wedding planner all at once. The biggest delicious cookie table. The soft sunset photos. Guests mingling by the fire outside. The crazy romantic sparkler exit. So many family and friends who love them. And the best of all, a wonderful marriage between two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
I think this was the first wedding I’ve photographed where the bride put on her own dress. There was a few reasons for that, but one of them was that the bridesmaids had to get their hair done at different locations that morning due to the hair artist cancelling last minute. So they all went to different salon’s that could fit them in.
I’ll never forget the moment I went outside to the ceremony site to take some test shots before the ceremony began, and one of the guests who was already seated said “ELLEN! Is that you??” It startled me a bit. I was expecting to know one or two people, but as I turned around, I saw my Aunt sitting there! I had forgotten that she and the mother of the bride work together! It was so fun to see her there.
My favorite part of the wedding was when we snuck outside during the reception for some sunset photos of the bride and groom. It’s always a great choice to leave the party for a bit and spend some time with just the two of you, finally married, and just breathe for a bit and take it all in. The evening light is so romantic!
