There’s a reason that we in photography land call the season of fall “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.” These cozy autumn family photos bring that phrase to life! I’ve said it before, but this fall was truly one of the most beautiful seasons we’ve had! The colors were beautiful and they lasted well into November. The leaves hung on to the trees extremely long this year! I’m sure that was partly because we didn’t have many super windy days, which was very unusual but absolutely wonderful for photos. No one had their hair blowing all over the place this year, which was fantastic!
I’ve been photographing the Totin family for many years now. Violet was just a baby when I met her. And one of the first family sessions they booked with me, was also at Bushy Run! It was so cold that day, we only made it about 15 minutes before we couldn’t take the bitter cold wind anymore. That has never been the case since that day for them. This year was especially nice and warm! They were all cozy in their sweaters and the kids were making me laugh with their best dance moves and silly faces.
I love it when the kids personalities come out during their photo sessions. And I love it even more when the parent’s personalities come out as well! Cody throwing leaves in the air and Nina busting out in laughter are my favorite parent moments from this day.
When their son Eli got out of the car, he told me that we had to find a log, and he would sit on it perfectly for his photos. I looked around and a fallen tree worked perfectly for their brother-sister photos! It’s been a great year for kids being willing to have their photos taken. Perhaps I can attribute some of that to the great weather and beautiful sunshine we’ve had. Or maybe I’m actually becoming more entertaining. LOL
