How about some unicorn birthday photos to brighten up this dreary day? I’m taking it back today, to this adorable session at Swallow Falls State Park in Deep Creek Lake. Little Michaela was celebrating her first birthday! She gave me the absolute best giggles and smiles. I just love seeing my client’s families grow throughout the years!
Swallow Falls is one of my absolute favorite places to have sessions at! Matt, Brenda and Michaela actually drove to the lake that morning and met me at the stone pavilion. We were the only ones there, first thing in the morning! Brenda’s family has a house at the lake, just like mine does. We share so many of the same memories from growing up: campfires, nonstop games, the best family time, and of course, just relaxing!
I was so excited to capture their little Michaela for her first birthday! Her unicorn headband was SO adorable! I couldn’t get over how stinking cute she was the whole time! She was clapping, and laughing, and cheesing it up! They brought along her favorite chair for these photos. She wasn’t walking yet, so the chair was a great way to help her stand up!
After I captured some fun portraits of Michaela by herself, we went over to the bridge in downtown Oakland, where we took some of Matt & Brenda’s engagement photos at! I was able to capture some beautiful family photos for them over there. It was so precious to go back to the same place, this time with their little girl! I just loved the little straw hat that Michaela wore! Babies with hats just make my heart melt.
You can see their previous fall family session here!
I can’t wait to see them all again, and their extended family for photos tomorrow! <3
