More often then not, the week before a wedding I end up praying really hard when the forecast shows rain on a wedding day. But as we all know, you can never really trust the weatherman’s predictions, especially in western Pennsylvania!
But like He always does, God held back the rain for all the important events of the day at Bushy Run. Then He unleashed the storm during the reception at the Waterworks. (which is all I ever ask for! lol)
Kristine was overflowing with joy the entire day. (fitting that Joy is her middle name!)
She and her bridesmaids had their hair done early in the morning at Michelle’s Bella Boutique in downtown Irwin. The girls there do an amazing job!
After everyone’s hair was finished, we headed to Kristine’s house where everyone finished their makeup and got dressed.
So many of Kristine’s personal details, (including her necklace, invitations, and most of her reception decorations) came from different people on Etsy! Everything went together so well!
There is this adorable flower garden in her backyard where we took most of her bridal portraits!
Tanner has twin nephews who were both ring bearers. And since Uncle Tanner was somewhere else getting ready, one of them decided to play his drums for him! He was a natural! Look at that face!
Kara spent the morning with the guys, capturing their details and moments as they got dressed.
And this is what I mean by moments! No one knew how to tie a tie! So they ended up youtube-ing a tutorial. Technology is a wonderful thing.
Their ceremony was held in the Stone Room of the museum at Bushy Run Battlefield.
Instead of lighting candles, or pouring sand, they decided to “tie the knot,” literally. 🙂
It’s not very often you see people playing the harp anymore. This lady did a wonderful job!
What happens when your little ones don’t want their pictures taken? You just go with it. It will be your memories to look back on and laugh about for years to come. (and yes, that’s Tanner’s “animal” from the muppets, that he stole from the house. I love the muppets.)
And of course you can’t get married at Bushy Run without getting a photo with a reenactor! Tanner wanted to hold his bayonet. I think it’s one of his dreams to be one of them. Don’t tell him I said that. 😉

Another detail from Etsy. This cake topper is seriously the best one I’ve ever seen! How cool is it that it is painted to look just like them! Even down to the flowers! 😀 And on top of the amazing cake by Tara at Team Edwards Desserts!
Weeks before the wedding, Kristine kept telling me about this photo wall that she and Tanner were creating. They wanted to make it more personal than just having a Photo Booth. So they put photos of their parents weddings, their siblings weddings, their puppy, and other important pieces of their lives on there. I was blown away by how much time they must have put into this! So naturally, I had to get a photo. That’s me and Randy Barker, the DJ. I know Randy from Sheetz (my other job). He used to be our mailman and would come in and talk to me all the time! Kristine also used to work at Sheetz, and she met him the same way! It’s not often you meet two of your wedding vendors at Sheetz. 🙂
Their wedding reception was held at The Water Works in Greensburg.
