As a former homeschool student, prom wasn’t one of those things that I looked forward to. For one, there was not a homeschool prom (until my senior year) and for two, I never thought the idea of getting together with a bunch of people who I don’t know and dancing/eating with them was a fantastic idea. Plus, I always thought I couldn’t dance anyways.
My senior year when they started the homeschool prom, my mind changed a little bit. I wanted to go. But then I found out it was the same day as my sisters wedding! So I wouldn’t be able to go anyways. I was disappointed at first, but I love weddings! What can I say? I wasn’t THAT disappointed.
So when my little sister Emma (who is a junior) said she wanted to go to the homeschool prom this year, I was excited! She would get to wear a pretty dress and heels, and get her hair done! I was giddy with excitement! And my cousin Lydia (who is a senior) was going to go as well!
Being one of two photographers in a family, you automatically get nominated to photograph all family events no matter what is going on. (Which I don’t mind at all by the way.) I love photography and I love my family, so when they get put together, I’m just…in LOVE!
And a bit shout out to Debbie at Not Just Hair Salon for doing the girls hair! It turned out amazing! 🙂
My cousin Zeb was their chaperone for the night. Of course it looks a little more like he was running a secret service operation!
