Fall Family Portraits at South Park – Pittsburgh Photographer

Pittsburgh Photographer

I should probably post Tayler & Brad’s photos from last year since I just finished their photos from this year. I’m trying to catch up you guys! LOL This year has been like one step forward – two steps back, when it comes to everything.

This session was my first time to South Park in Pittsburgh, and I am hooked! I just love it there! Such a pretty place for photos! Though the last time I was there, there was a wedding in the gazebo scheduled every hour. Just a PSA…if you are going to get married there, let me know. 😉 I’ll be your photographer! 😀 #noshame

2020 has really brought to life the family photographer inside of me. When I started this blog way back when, I thought I’d always just be a wedding photographer. I photographed maybe 2 or 3 families a year at that time. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE weddings…but with everything being so crazy with weddings this year, I’ve taken a step back and refocused my attention on families. And what an incredible year it has been for family photography!

Being a Pittsburgh family photographer and getting to travel around to different locations in western PA, really makes my heart happy. Everywhere here is just gorgeous. The city. The parks. The mountains. It all makes a stunning backdrop for any photo session.

I know it can be frustrating sometimes when the weather doesn’t always go as planned, but sometimes it ends up even better than you can anticipate! I live for those days and the challenges that they bring!

Tayler & Brad are client’s for life! They’ve been in front of my camera 10 times now for different sessions and events. They’re just wonderful people and I look forward to seeing them each year. Though I wish we lived just a tad bit closer so we could see each other more often! We’ve ran into each other on the occasional late night Target run and Aldi shopping trip though.

You can see their previous year’s photos hereand their wedding here. 🙂

Enjoy their South Park family session! <3

Pittsburgh PhotographerHere it is. The story you’ve all been waiting for! I brought along a squeaker to try and grab their dogs attention. (It worked great by the way.) I was standing at the edge of a grove of trees, squeaking and squeaking, and all of a sudden, I hear the leaves start rustling. The sound is getting closer and closer. All of a sudden, something in the leaves rushed right at me! It scared me so bad, I made a run for it! It turned out to be a MOUSE. Apparently my squeaker made a great mouse call! Of course, that scared me even more because where there are wild mice, there are also snakes. And if there’s something I hate the most in my life and am terrified that I’m going to encounter one day at a session, it’s a snake! Yikes! Thankfully, I got the photos I needed quickly and we were able to move away from the mice and potential snakes. LOL
