So scared of getting older
I’m only good at being young
So I play the numbers game to find a way to say that life has just begun
Had a talk with my old man
Said, “Help me understand.”
He said, “Turn 68,
you’ll renegotiate
Don’t stop this train
Don’t for a minute change the place you’re in
(Stop This Train | John Mayer)
I turned a year older, just a few days ago, and all of a sudden, life began to speed up.
I began thinking about all of the adventures I want to take, and everything I want to accomplish in life. Then I realized, what am I waiting for? As my family so kindly keeps reminding me, I’m not getting any younger! 🙂
Life is too short to live in the “someday.”
So go on adventures!
Take time off work!
Go out with that guy!
Live! Love! Laugh!
Sit down and finish that book!
Print those photos!
Finish that art project you started 3 years ago!
Go hiking!
Go swimming!
Use your kayak!
Cherish every moment!
Say yes when he asks you on a second date!
Play games when your little sister asks you to!
Give lots of hugs!
Enjoy that ice cream cone!
Pick those flowers!
Get a lovely sunburn!
..I mean..tan.
Dance outside!
Sing at the top of your lungs!
Walk around in your bare feet!
Be happy for other people!
Let your hair down!
Leave the camera behind (occasionally)!
Jump in waterfalls!
Make memories!
Share stories!
Document your story for your kids!
Pay closer attention!
Be a better listener!
Ask people how they are doing!
Talk to Jesus more often!
Don’t shy away when it gets hard!
Be a leader!
Never give up hope!
Love and be loved!
Don’t be afraid to take chances!
Don’t worry about the future! It’ll worry about itself. 🙂
Always share the joy you have with others.
And one last thing: Just do it!
