While this post is a continuation of Alethea’s first year photos, it includes more of our family than anything! No worries! If you missed a few months, you can always go back and see more by clicking the “personal” category button on my main blog page.
Our Christmas card photos last year were extremely last minute. By that, I mean that my sister said “Hey, we’re going to meet at mom and dad’s to take some family pictures next week!” My sister, Kara, is also a photographer and often heads up the family group photos and keeps people in line. So the majority of photos you’ll see of us here were taken by her.
I can’t say that this year’s set of Christmas card photos have been any better planned because we STILL haven’t taken them. I’ll be honest – I’m waiting for a really great snow to do some amazing maternity photos at the same time. So we may be sending out new years cards instead.
Our dog, d’Artagnan, did not want to cooperate. He only ended up in about two photos. He’s a pretty hyper dog, especially when his cousin dog, Abby is around!
Needless to say, even with the short amount of planning, we got some of my favorite photos of the three of us. I just can’t get over how stinking cute Alethea is.
A few days later, Alethea was dedicated back to God in our church in Irwin. We had a great service with so much of our family! Our pastor invited them all to come forward and represent the love and support standing behind us. It was such a happy occasion and I can’t wait to do it again with our new bundle of joy next year! It was also the last time we saw one of Jonathan’s aunts. We actually didn’t know she was coming, but we’re so glad she did! The Lord works in mysterious ways and He knows when family needs to be together. She got to spend time with her two sisters who she hadn’t seen in a while, before she passed away that week.
We gathered for Thanksgiving at my parent’s house with my family, grandparents, and my mother in law. My sister Kara was due with my nephew in December, so we were all anticipating a new baby in the family. (I seriously can’t believe his first birthday is in just a few weeks!) She took my grandparents Christmas card photo that day.
Alethea loved eating her first thanksgiving meal! She fell asleep on my lap afterwards, which is very rare still to this day.
My little nephew, Leander, was born just a few days later! I’ll be posting more photos of his homecoming and meeting his big sister in my next post, but for now, here’s some of Alethea and I meeting him for the first time.
